As I sit and watch the sun sink below the clouds of south dallas skies, one patient sweet second at a time - I hear not whispered or yelled but spoken confidently to my right.

“Donk-ey donk-ey donk-ey donk-ey donk”

She’s Beyoncé so you can expect gorgeous runs and cozy layering. Really fun bop with steamy lyrics. Not at all here for the remix pack tho.

is it cool? by Steve Lacy ft. SZA

So like a few of the other songs on Steve Lacy’s new album “Oh yeah?“ he (and SZA) are struggling with getting vulnerable in relationships coming from different angles.

Its refreshing but ironic because if we could be as straight up as the lyrics are (no complex motifs or hidden storytelling) then there’d probably be world peace, or at least a few less heartbreaks.
